I started working with FLAXMAN ESTATES around 2019. During my prospecting phase I worked mostly with Cheri, who’s a very kind, energetic lady, always ready to help. Cheri showed me many properties (via video call when I was not in Spain), was very patient in answering my many questions, and very knowledgeable. On several occasions she talked me out of buying a certain property based on works that needed to be done or other aspects I couldn’t have been aware of. I learnt to appreciate and trust working with her as she wasn’t trying to push me into a transaction but rather tried to defend my best interests and help find the property that’s right for me, even if doing so ultimately took more of her time and effort. In other words, I got the service that I’d expect from a buy-side agent.

Once I found the perfect property for our family, in 2023, I started working with Richard who accompanied me through the entire transaction process, which took several months. Richard was extremely helpful and always available. Whenever I needed something from him, he would promptly pick up the phone or return my call within half an hour. He was always available on WhatsApp, even in the evenings and weekends. In addition, he was very knowledgeable about the whole process. The seller of my property was not an easy person to work with and often had unusual requests. Richard was always able to guide me through the intricacies of Spanish law and which requests were fair and normal and which ones weren’t, to which he found a suitable solution with the seller.

Buying a property abroad can be tricky and stressful and it helps a great deal to have an agent whom you can trust and rely on to guide you through the entire process, from start to finish. All the buy side agents have access to the full inventory available on the market. So it’s a matter of picking one that’s reliable, trustworthy and out there to protect your interests and find what you need as opposed to one that wants to push you into a quick transaction.

When the day of the sale was finally there, Richard and his father Neil picked me up by car from the hotel and drove me the 30 km to the notary’s office and were present throughout the process. They were the most kind and courteous people to work with. It’s that extra touch of British flair in addition to the multiple decades worth of combined Spanish property experience in addition to the trust that is well earned that would make me confident to recommend FLAXMAN ESTATES to anyone interested in buying a home in Spain.

We bought a great house in Alhaurin El Grande through Flaxman’s. They were everything you could want in a local agent. They've years of experience so were very knowledgeable about the area, where each town could buy and where to avoid. Talking it through with them helped us sort out what we would want in a holiday home that might one day become something more permanent. They then sorted out a great range of properties, tracking down places we'd never have found, and quickly made all the arrangements for viewings. Nothing was too much trouble but always without high pressure selling. They helped us get a local lawyer who dealt smoothly with the bureaucracy. We previously were on the mailing list and inspected properties with other agents to no avail. My wife found Flaxman Estates, and what a find, from the outset and the initial inquiry, we knew we would be happy with them. We happened upon Flaxman Properties entirely by chance, but when we heard Cheri’s cheerful voice on the phone, we knew we would be in safe hands!

Thank you for all you have done for us when buying our first property in Spain. We were so nervous about buying a property abroad, but thanks to you, it was effortless and stress-free. It is evident that you love your work and go above and beyond what anyone could expect an estate agent to do. You helped with the money transfer and recommended an efficient and pleasant solicitor. I was not sure how we would get the keys to our place, as the flight we needed to get was a Sunday, but with no problem, you came out on a Sunday to give us the keys and go around the property with us; (how many British estate agents would do that)?
